William “Gill” Lazenby focuses his practice on transactional, real estate and finance matters. As part of his transactional practice, Mr. Lazenby assists private equity funds, investors, and developers in a variety of real estate acquisitions, build to suit lease projects, and distressed asset purchases. In addition, Mr. Lazenby also provides individual and mid to large market corporate clients guidance on a wide range of business acquisition and sales, mergers, and corporate reorganizations. The corporate aspects of his practice includes corporate organizations and planning, private and commercial financing (including a number of SBA financed transactions), and post-acquisition general corporate counsel. His representations have included numerous community banks, private lenders, private equity funds, contractors, medical professionals, and tactical weapon suppliers.

In addition to transactional matters, Mr. Lazenby also handles large scale commercial litigation matters, relying on his extensive background in state, federal, and bankruptcy court. As part of his litigation practice, he is licensed to practice in all State Courts in the State of Florida as well as the United States District Courts and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.

Mr. Lazenby has been selected as Super Lawyers Rising Star (2011-2019) and is AV Peer Rated on Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Lazenby was born in Fort Lawn, South Carolina. He attended The University of South Carolina , graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing, and The Florida State University College of Law graduating magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree. During his time at the Florida State College of Law, Mr. Lazenby was a member of the Business Review and the Journal of Transnational Law and Policy, a recipient of the Guyte P. McCord Memorial Scholarship, the Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award, and numerous book awards, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. After graduation from law school, Mr. Lazenby clerked for the Honorable Mark A. Pizzo, Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida before joining Gray Robinson as an associate in the litigation and creditor’s rights practice. Following his time at Gray Robinson, Mr. Lazenby was a partner in a boutique litigation firm in St. Petersburg.

He is an active member of the Polywogs, the First Team, a group of young professionals who provide support and fundraiser for the Children’s Dream Fund, and a board member for the First Tee of St. Petersburg.
